Gold Coast, Australia
Welcome to the Gold Coast! Located in the state of Queensland, Australia. Here you can visit the stunning coastline of iconic white beaches like Surfers Paradise, Burleigh Heads and Coolangatta. This perfect beachside holiday destination is a favourite for families as well as backpackers. If you are interested in activities other than sun, sand and swimming there is plenty to do including visiting the many theme parks and heading to the Hinterland to escape to the rainforest and waterfalls.
Beach day, every day
The Gold Coast stretches across 70km of stunning beaches. Some of my favourite beaches include Coolangatta and Broadbeach. Surfers Paradise is where the city and the beach meet. Surfers Paradise is home to many cafes, shops and attractions.
Tamberine Mountain National Park is a quaint artistic village which supports local produce and art. Visiting Mt Tamberine you will have an abundance of local artwork to admire and taste the local wine. Mt Tamberine is also home to the subtropical rainforests and reward those who wish to discover them with cascading waterfalls and spectacular views. Some popular waterfalls located in Tamberine include Curtis Falls and Cedar Creek Falls.
Springbrook National Park
Springbrook National Park is a world heritage listed site and home to rainforests, waterfalls, lookouts and hiking trails. Be sure to visit the magical waterfall tumbling through caves systems sculpted from the remains of an active volcano that dominated the landscape 23 million years ago. Visiting Natural Bridge will take your breath away. Purlingbrook Falls allows you to overlook the falls from two lookouts on the edge of the cliff and there are longer walks allowing you to descend the base of the falls to feel the true force this waterfall has. There are also views of the surrounding ranges and the coastline from the Best of All Lookouts and the Canyon lookout.
Anyone seeking soaring coasters, slippery slides and adrenaline attractions then heading to the Gold Coast was the right decision. Heading to the Gold Coast you can visit one of the many theme parks that this city has to offer including Dreamworld, Seaworld, Movieworld, Wet’n’Wild and Whitewaterworld. There is something to please everyone and will allow you and your family to create more memories on the Gold Coast.
Beautiful Burleigh Heads is a perfect location for those wishing to relax after a long day doing nothing. The beach is beautiful but the southern end has a large park perfect for watching the sunset, hanging out with friends and enjoying a picnic. For those who want some exercise also located on the southern end is a lookout on the headland which looks out over Burleigh Heads as well as another lookout to Tallebudgera Creek.
This creek is a hidden gem amongst all of the Gold Coast. It is ideal for families with small children as it estuary beach offering calmer waters. This spot is also popular for kayaking and boating.
